Sound Meter - 35 to 135 dB
Everyone reacts differently to noise, however with the sound meter you can determine exactly how loud it is in your office, workshop or on the street. The sound meter registers human-caused sounds as well as noise produced by machines.
With a measurement rage of 35 to 135 dB, you can draw reliable conclusions about a variety of sound sources by precisely measuring them. You can precisely capture even large differences in sound level in a dynamic range of 50 dB.
The sound pressure level meter stands out with a measurement accuracy of ± 2 dB, which makes possible an exact classification of the collected data, whether it is for street noise or for sounds produced by machines.
The sound meter effectively recognises a frequency range of 31.5 Hz to 8 kHz, meaning it can also measure frequencies that are not audible to the human ear. For this it falls back on frequency weighting A, which is optimal for measuring ambient noise in an office, for example.
The Fast and Slow functions enable you to better measure and describe the dynamic of the recorded sound sources. In Fast mode, the device measures with a speed of 125 milliseconds, thereby recording rapid changes in sound pressure better than in Slow mode, in which measurements are taken every second to show a more continuous sound level.
In addition to sound measurements, you can also use the device to determine the temperature in a range from -20 to +70 °C. You can change the temperature unit from Celsius to Fahrenheit as needed.
All of these settings can be easily selected using just a few buttons. The collected data is shown on the LCD display to within one decimal point so you can check it immediately. The display is equipped with background lighting for optimum visibility even in dim settings.
The sound level meter is powered by three 1.5 V micro AAA batteries and has a maximum battery life of 60 hours. The microphone is equipped with a windscreen for optimum results, even outdoors.
