Magnetic Stir Bars - 19 Pieces
The magnetic stir bars set SBS-STIR2 comes with 19 pieces and consists of different sized PTFE coated stir bars, which are especially suitable for magnetic stirrers and stirring processes. The set includes magnetic stirring bars with seven different lengths (5 - 70 mm) distributed over six different diameters (3 - 9 mm), as well as a magnetic stirring bar with a special shape, also known as ''Octagonal gear type''. These magnetic bars are protected against heat, abrasion, chemical corrosion and are very easy to clean and disinfect. The magnetic stirring bars can be used at temperatures from -196 to 250 °C. Thanks to their PFTE coating, the bars have a high abrasion and corrosion resistance. PTFE is a well-known passive material for chemical experiments. Not only does it not react with chemicals, but it also has great temperature resistance, so that it can be used at different temperatures. In addition, the magnetic stirrers have high gliding properties, they help liquids to not stick and they have a low friction coefficient, so that they can easily rotate in the magnetic field to mix liquids.
All stirrers are equipped with a strong magnet in the core. This high magnetism benefits the bars not only when stirring, but also when removing them. To remove the magnetic stirring bars you need another strong magnet. With a magnetic stirring bar remover, you can also remove the bars from the solution outside the beaker glass.
A magnetic stirrer together with a magnetic stirring bar allow you to mix different liquids even in closed vessels without contaminating them. For example, sterile work can be carried out under inert gas atmosphere or with substances. Stirring produces little noise, even when using the Octagonal gearbox type included in the scope of delivery. This special form generates a vortex up to the bottom of the container. This magnetic stirring bar is mainly used for high-speed stirring.
