Having tried several methods of keeping the pigeons away from my house and garden (including other ultrsonic ones), I gave this a try as a last-gasp attempt. So far, so good. Within a couple of days, no more pigeons!
Cool, device, build in battery and charger provided. Can not fault it. Working well, since installed my cat is jobless :p
Not suitable for my use. The previous model with a mains device works well, the batteries of this one lasted outside in -5 to 0 degrees for only a week! The brochure suggests that the power consumption of the device is low. Is not. I have equipped all 3 devices I bought with a 6 V voltage source. When viewed with an oscilloscope, the sound is off for 2.5 s and then a variable-frequency sound burst for 0.3 ... 1 s. The frequency varies as promised from 12 to 24 KHz. The volume is constant. For loud 5 V square wave. The electronic board is small, but it is not protectively varnished. Outdoor use can cause oxidation and stop working. The soul of the device is an 8-foot microprocessor Atmel TINY 13A. Equipped with a mains power source (soldering or compression connection), the device works and produces ultrasonic bursts.
