I use the device in our company to do a monthly “soup day”. I usually make goulash soup or chilli con carne or something like that. I put the soup cold in the pot in the morning and let it heat up in the water bath. Nothing burns and after about 1.5 hours, about 9 kg of goulash soup is hot. Then I turn the temperature down a bit so that something hot can be eaten all day long. It's well received by our employees and isn't really expensive.

No, this model is only for keeping pre-cooked food hot, similar to a bain-marie.
